Ukraine asks for decrease in index price for ferroalloys

The Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers Association has voiced its concern regarding the high levels of minimum reference prices (the price levels under which exports cannot be performed) for exports of Ukrainian-origin ferroalloys.

The association's deputy director Mr. Sergey Kudryavtzev has stated that, because of the high reference prices for ferroalloy exports, Ukrainian producers have been losing out in particular in the Russian market to Chinese material, the price for which is $100/mt lower.

At the beginning of August, the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy had increased the minimum reference price for ferrosilicomanganese by $300/mt to $925-940/mt FOB, and by $299-300/mt to $1,080-1,100/mt DAF for delivery to the CIS states.
