In 2010, Turkish steel exports had decreased by 6.46 percent year on year to 17.33 million mt, while the revenues from these exports had risen by almost 11 percent, due to increased steel prices, reaching $13.7 billion.

billet exports decreased by 60.8 percent month on month and by 49.43 percent as compared to January 2010, totaling 126,700 mt. More than 80 percent of
Turkey's total steel
billet exports in the month in question went to the
UAE, Saudi Arabia and
Egypt. In 2010,
Turkey's steel
billet exports came to approximately 3.53 million mt, increasing by 55.85 percent year on year, while revenues from these exports rose by 102 percent.
On the other hand,
Turkey's steel bar (including
rebar) exports in January amounted to 500,276 mt, dropping by 22.51 percent month on month and up 59 percent year on year. Last year,
Turkey's total steel bar exports had declined by 28.57 percent year on year to 6.41 million mt, while revenues from these exports had decreased by almost 11 percent.
In January,
Turkey's total hot rolled flat steel exports decreased by 35.9 percent month on month to 100,913 mt, while the year-on-year increase was recorded at 238 percent. In 2010,
Turkey's hot rolled flat steel exports totaled approximately 921,000 mt, increasing by three percent year on year.
