According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in June this year increased by 10.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and was down by 1.6 percent from May this year.
In June, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey improved by 5.3 percent year on year and registered a 5.5 percent decrease from the previous month. Meanwhile, on year-on year basis the last decline in the index was recorded in January 2010. The industrial turnover index for fabricated metal products manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, recorded a rise of 9.1 percent year on year in the month in question and decreased slightly by 0.4 percent from the previous month.
Meanwhile, in June this year, the industrial new orders index for the manufacture of basic metals decreased by 5.4 percent from May and was up 2.8 percent year on year. On year-on-year basis, the index has been trending up since January 2010. The industrial new orders index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, in June this year increased by 10.9 percent compared to the same month of 2011 and was down 0.7 percent compared to the previous month.
