Turkey's largest steelmaker Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikaları TAS (Erdemir) has announced that the Turkish Metal Union issued a strike decision on June 11, within the scope of the collective labor agreement negotiations between the Turkish Metal Union and the Turkish Employers' Association of Metal Industries (MESS), and notified Erdemir on June 14. The steelmaker stated that negotiations are still ongoing.

There is a 60-day period before the strike decision becomes effective and the negotiations will continue during that period, said Turkish Metal Union official Yusuf Ziya Odabas.
