Turkish metal producers’ foreign sales prices down 0.49% in May from Apr

According to the figures released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkish producers’ foreign sales price index (PPI)* in general increased by 0.45 percent compared to March and by 32.13 percent year on year, while an average rise of 67.27 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.

In the given month, the foreign sales prices of producers in the Turkish domestic basic metal industry decreased by 0.49 percent on month-on-month basis and increased by 18.25 percent compared to the same month of 2022. Meanwhile, the average increase in prices in the latest 12 months was 63.11 percent. 

On the other hand, in May Turkish producers’ foreign sales prices for domestic manufactured metal products, except machinery, advanced by 2.02 percent compared to April and by 38.26 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the average increase in prices in the latest 12 months was 78.04 percent.
