Turkish August home appliance sales hit highest level of 2012

Domestic sales in Turkey's home appliance market remained stable on year-on-year basis in August this year, totaling 626,891 units, according to the data released by the Turkish Home Appliance Industrialists Association (BESD). Meanwhile, the country's home appliance sales in August constituted the highest monthly volume to date in 2012.

According to the BESD's data, in August home appliance output in Turkey increased by 7.3 percent year on year to 1,930,913 units, with a month-on-month increase of 3.4 percent. In the month in question, Turkey's home appliance exports rose by 8.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and were up 10.2 percent compared to July, amounting to 1,518,392 units, while Turkey's domestic appliance imports in August this year totaled 86,379 units, remaining unchanged compared to July this year and up 15.1 percent over the same month of 2011.
