Turkey’s rebar exports up 14.4 percent in 2011

According to the statistics provided by Turkey's Steel Exporters' Association (CIB), in December 2011 Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 826,579 metric tons, increasing by 28.3 percent year on year and up 30.4 percent from the previous month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $538.4 million, rising by 38.85 percent compared to December 2010 and up 25 percent from the previous month.

On the other hand, for the whole of 2011 Turkey's rebar exports reached 7.3 million metric tons, up 14.4 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $5 billion, increasing by 37.2 percent as compared to 2010.

In 2011, Turkey's rebar exports to the UAE, the largest rebar export destination of Turkey, decreased by 6.3 percent, while rebar exports to Singapore increased by 130 percent, both compared to 2010.
