Turkish steelmaker Tosyali Holding has signed a shareholders' agreement with Algeria-based Port Company of Arzew to secure the supply of raw materials for its new direct reduced iron (DRI) plant in Oran, Algeria, according to media sources.

According to the agreement, the two sides will construct an iron ore berth specialized in iron and steel for the supply of iron ore to the production facilities of Tosyali, located in the Industrial Zone of Bethioua (Oran), Algeria. Raw materials will be supplied from Brazil and some African countries, though local Algerian mine Gara Djebilet is also eyed as a possible source.

Media sources also stated that in the long term Tosyali also plans to export finished products from the mentioned berth.
