Turkey’s rebar exports down 13 percent in January

In January this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 542,228 metric tons, decreasing by 13.13 percent year on year and down 28.1 percent from the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $264.9 million, decreasing by 26.8 percent compared to January 2014 and down 4.2 percent from the previous month.

In January of the current year, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the UAE which received 104,587 metric tons, up 92.44 percent year on year. The UAE was followed by the US with 86,599 metric tons, up 80 percent, and Yemen with 57,326 metric tons, down 39.33 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
