In July this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 586,658 metric tons, decreasing by 9.29 percent year on year, but up 10.53 percent from the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $328.22 million, decreasing by 11.82 percent compared to July 2013 but up 8.29 percent from the previous month.
On the other hand, in the first seven months of this year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 4.48 million metric tons, down 5.12 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $2.53 billion, decreasing by 8.81 percent year on year.
In July this year, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the UAE with exports amounting to 86,595 metric tons, up 45.41 percent year on year. The UAE was followed by the US with 83,688 metric tons, up 7.79 percent, and Egypt with 39,286 metric tons, up 152.53 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the first seven months, the UAE ranked as Turkey's leading rebar export destination, receiving 697,954 metric tons, up 21.38 percent year on year. In the given period, Iraq received 535,388 metric tons of rebar from Turkey, down 36.2 percent year on year.
