According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 11,241 mt, down 3.2 percent month on month and up 54.7 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $10.6 million, decreasing by 3.1 percent compared to November and up 64.7 percent compared to the same month of 2016.
In 2017, Turkey’s PPGI exports increased by 44.4 percent to 136,610 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $126.7 million, up 57 percent, both year on year.
Bulgaria was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in 2017, with imports of 20,070 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, Bulgaria was followed by Romania and the US, whose PPGI imports from Turkey amounted to 18,416 mt and 11,058 mt respectively.
