Turkey’s industrial production rises by 18.9 percent in January

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜIK), in January this year Turkey's monthly industrial production index (2005=100) increased by 18.9 percent year on year, while the seasonal and calendar adjusted industrial production index improved by 0.5 percent compared to the previous month.

In January, the index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey increased by 20.8 percent year on year and was down 11.7 percent over December 2010, while the index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products rose by 24.8 percent year on year and was down by 18.3 percent compared to the previous month.
