Turkish rebar producer Izmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. (IDC) has announced that it has reduced shifts at its bar rolling plant amid precautions taken to reduce the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.

IDC stated that it has temporarily suspended production at its deformed bar rolling plant within the scope of business continuity until the coronavirus pandemic risk is brought under control across the country due to decreasing orders in consequence of the impact of the coronavirus and the availability of adequate inventories.

The company said that its steel shop and medium-section mill will maintain their operations without any change, while its bar rolling mill will be operated in two shifts. In addition, the plant will be operated with a minimum number of staff.

IDC expects the loss of production per day to reach around 1,100 mt, while its daily turnover loss will be about 3.4 million TL (532.408 $).

The company said that it has taken all required precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.
