Turkey’s Ekinciler resumes production following earthquakes

Turkish steel producer Ekinciler Demir ve Çelik Sanayi, which is located in Hatay, one of the cities affected by the huge earthquakes which hit Turkey’s southeastern region on February 6, has announced that it has resumed production and is now operating at full capacity.

At the end of February and beginning of March, Baştuğ Metalurji, Koç Metalurji and MMK Metalurji also resumed production. All mills in the region are expected to be operational by mid-March, as SteelOrbis reported yesterday.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s steel production is forecast to increase in April, amid the higher demand expected as a result of the reconstruction plans for the southeastern region.
