According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year Turkey's cold rolled (CR) flat steel imports rose 9.9 percent compared to the previous month, increasing to 49,694 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $46.5 million, increasing by 24 percent as compared to June this year.
In July, Turkey's cold rolled flat steel imports from Russia amounted to 19,479 metric tons, increasing by 42.8 percent compared to June this year and accounting for approximately 39 percent of the country's total cold rolled flat steel imports. Turkey's second biggest source of cold rolled flat steel imports in July was Romania with 10,676 metric tons, decreasing by 23 percent month on month.
Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year, Turkey's cold rolled flat steel imports amounted to 335,906 metric tons, decreasing 18.3 percent compared to the same period last year. Imports from Russia amounted to 140,922 metric tons, decreasing by 14.67 percent, and cold rolled flat steel imports from Romania amounted to 62,636 metric tons, increasing by 63.76 percent, both compared to the same period last year.
