Turkey’s CR coil and sheet imports down four percent in 2011

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December 2011 Turkey's cold rolled (CR) coil and sheet imports fell 23.27 percent compared to the previous month and were up 19.7 percent year on year, amounting to 54,153 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $45.7 million, down 25.2 percent compared to November and up 25.3 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in 2011, Turkey's cold rolled coil and sheet imports amounted to 641,613 metric tons, decreasing four percent compared to 2010.
 
In 2011, Turkey's cold rolled coil and sheet imports from Russia amounted to 229,323 metric tons, decreasing by 17 percent compared to 2010 and accounting for approximately 35.7 percent of the country's total cold rolled coil and sheet imports. Turkey's second biggest source of cold rolled coil and sheet imports in 2011 was Romania with 95,640 metric tons, increasing by 19.6 percent year on year.
