According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's cold rolled flat steel imports rose 14.56 percent compared to the previous month, increasing to 45,202 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $37.5 million, increasing by 2.3 percent as compared to May this year.
In June, Turkey's cold rolled flat steel imports from Romania amounted to 13,866 metric tons, increasing by 6.4 percent compared to May this year and accounting for approximately 31 percent of the country's total cold rolled flat steel imports. Turkey's second biggest source of cold rolled flat steel imports in June was Russia with 13,642 metric tons, decreasing by 0.7 percent month on month.
Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, Turkey's cold rolled flat steel imports amounted to 286,212 metric tons, decreasing 19.2 percent compared to the same period last year. Imports from Russia amounted to 121,442 metric tons, decreasing by 13.5 percent, and cold rolled flat steel imports from Romania amounted to 51,960 metric tons, increasing by 69.97 percent, both compared to the same period last year.
