Turkey's basic metals turnover index up 2.1% in Oct

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in October this year increased by 6.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year following the 16.3 percent year-on-year increase recorded in September.

In October, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey increased by 2.1 percent year on year and registered a 10.3 percent fall from the previous month, after a rise of 19.4 percent in September compared to August. In October, the industrial turnover index for fabricated metal product manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, increased 10.8 percent year on year and decreased by 12.9 percent from the previous month, after a 28.6 percent increase in September compared to August.

The turnover of domestic sales of Turkish basic metals manufacturing decreased by 9.38 percent in October, while foreign sales were down by 12.21 percent, both month on month. In the month in question, a 15.93 percent month-on-month decrease was recorded in the domestic sales turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products, with foreign sales decreasing by 5.45 percent compared to the previous month
