Turkey uses 50 percent of wire rod import quota

According to European Union’s current customs data, with the new quota period starting on July 1, Turkey has already used 187,360 mt of its rebar quota which stands at 301,537 mt for the period between July 1, 2019 and July 1, 2020. Regarding the wire rod quota, Turkish exporters have used 155,463 mt, which is over 50 percent of 312,081 mt, the total quota volume. Meanwhile, there are still 14,523 mt of wire rod imports from Turkey waiting at European ports.

Turkish exporters will have the opportunity to use “other country” quotas as of April 1, 2020, if there are still any volumes left.
