Turkey reportedly bans scrap imports from Lebanon

Turkey’s Ministry of Commerce has reportedly banned scrap imports from Lebanon as they might consist of scrap cargoes including explosive substance from Syria and Iraq.

SteelOrbis has learnt that some importers are filing for exemption for their scrap shipments from Lebanon which are en route and which have already arrived at the Turkish ports.

In the first nine months of 2018, Turkey imported 284,040 mt of scrap from Lebanon.
