SteelOrbis has been heard from market sources that Turkish rebar offers to Lebanon can be found at $585/mt FOB, while Chinese rebar offers to the same destination are at $550/mt CFR. Lebanese buyers' rebar stocks are on the high end due to the large volume of purchases from China, and so demand for rebar at the moment is not strong. 70 percent of rebar purchases in the Lebanese market is from China, with the remainder from Turkey and the CIS region. Meanwhile, the increased political tension in the region has hindered any improvement in construction activities.
