Turkey forms Localization Board

According to Turkey’s Official Gazette, under the leadership of Mehmet Simsek, deputy prime minister in charge of economy, and with the support of the Ministries of Science, Industry and Technology; Economy; Customs and Trade; and Finance, Turkey has established a Localization Board to realize programs to reduce Turkey’s import dependency and increase the country’s competitive strength.

The Localization Board aims to develop domestic industry in line with global markets and increase the export share of mid-high and high technology products.

Details regarding which products will receive support for localization and what kind of supports will be provided are yet to be clarified.
