TMK IPSCO, Texas-based subsidiary of Russian steel pipe producer TMK, has sent a letter to the US Department of Commerce, asking for an exemption for some of its products from the Section 232 tariffs, as reported by Reuters.

In its letter, the company stated that, being one of the largest domestic producers of seamless and welded steel pipe in the US, it depends on the import of certain semi-finished products from its Russian affiliates which it cannot source in the US.
