TISCO’s branded product sales up 84%

Indian steel producer Tata Iron and Steel Corporation (TISCO) reported an 84% year-on-year rise in its branded product sales during the 2003-04 fiscal year. Sales of branded products increased from Rupees 12.86 billion ($295 million) in 2002-03 to Rupees 23.63 billion ($542 million) in the 2003-04 fiscal year. Sales of Tata Steelium and Tata Shaktee, TISCO's branded flat products, increased 186% to 440'000 tons. Tata Steelium accounted for over 280'000 tons of the total sales. During the 2003-2004 fiscal year, sales of branded long products increased 30% to 260'000 tons.
