Tianjin Steel hikes medium plate prices again

SteelOrbis Shanghai On January 30, Tianjin Steel announced an increase of RMB 40/mt to its ex-factory prices for medium plate. This latest hike follows an earlier rise of RMB 30/mt for the same product, which the mill announced on January 26. Following this latest upward adjustment, Tianjin Steel's price of 6 mm Q235B common carbon medium plate now costs RMB 4300/mt ($553), 8 mm costs RMB 4180/mt ($540), 10 mm costs RMB 4020/mt ($517), 12 mm has risen to 3890/mt ($501), 14 mm is at RMB 3820/mt ($492), 16-20 mm costs 3800/mt ($489), while the price of 22 mm Q235 has risen to RMB 3820/mt ($492). All the above prices include taxes (17 percent VAT) and are effective as of January 30.
