Thailand Ministry of Industry demands removal of AD duties on steel

Thailand Minister of Industry Pongsak Raktapongpaisal has recently announced that he will demand Ministry of Commerce to temporarily lift antidumping duties on hot rolled steel sheet imported from fourteen countries in order to help reduce the prices and rein in inflation. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, Thailand Ministry of Commerce in mid-September reinstated antidumping duties on hot rolled steel sheet imported from Japan, South Africa, Russia, Kazakhstan, India, Korea, Taiwan, Venezuela, Argentina, Ukraine, Algeria, Indonesia, Slovakia and Romania after suspending the duties for a six-month period beginning from March. However the Minister of Industry is planning to request Ministry of Commerce to suspend the subject duties for a three-month period beginning from November in order to help cut steel prices in domestic market.
