Thailand’s Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) has announced that it has initiated an expiry review of the antidumping duty on imports of certain non-alloy hot rolled coil products from Japan, South Africa, Russia, Kazakhstan, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Venezuela, Argentina, Ukraine, Algeria, Indonesia, Slovakia and Romania in order to extend the antidumping duty for one more year.

The investigation was launched upon the complaint by Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited, G Steel Company Public Company Limited, GJ Steel Public Company Limited and Sahaviriya Plate Mill Public Company Limited.

According to the DFT’s statement, the antidumping duty was initially imposed in May 2015, with duty rates ranging between 0 percent and 128.11 percent and it will expire on May 25, 2020. The review will last 30 days. Interested parties have 15 days to respond. The antidumping duty is likely to be extended soon, SteelOrbis understands.

The review does not cover the re-rolling products to be used in electrical galvanized steel, or in the home appliance or electrical appliance and automotive sectors.

The products subject to the antidumping duty order fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7208 and 7211.
