Thai government wants to keep steel prices steady

Thailand's Commerce Ministry announced plans to keep steel prices steady till the end of year. Accordingly, the Ministry reportedly asked Sahaviriya Steel Industry (SSI), a major Thai steelmaker, to maintain its sales price for at least three months. Sources report that SSI agreed to act in line with the Ministry's request. The Ministry indicated that construction steel prices are generally inclined to rise during dry season.
