LLX Logistica SA, the company building the new Acu port complex in southeast Brazil announced Thursday that Latin American steelmaker Ternium SA has received the preliminary license it needs to build its planned rolling mill at the port.

The 8.4 million metric-ton-a-year slab and flat-rolled integrated facility will also include an iron ore pelletizing plant. Additionally, Ternium and LLX Acu Operacoes Portuarias SA, a LLX Logistica subsidiary, have signed contracts for Ternium to use the port to import coal and export steel.
