According to the trade union FNV, workers at Tata Steel’s IJmuiden plant in the Netherlands has voted to go on strike over planned job cuts and the plant’s further integration with Tata’s British operations. An FNV spokesman said that strikes could start as of June 10 if Tata Steel does not meet workers’ demands.

There have been protests at the plant following the sudden departure of its CEO Theo Henrar, while Tata Europe announced that there would be no compulsory layoffs at its IJmuiden plant until October 2021, as previously reported by SteelOrbis.

The union has also demanded that the company extend agreements with workers by five years and drop its plan to integrate the Dutch and British activities.
