The global steel giant Tata Steel has announced that it is building a new finishing line for hot dip galvanized steel, which is used in car body panels, in Ijmuiden, Netherlands.

According to Tata Steel's statement, the new plant scheduled to be launched in 2014 will improve the market position of the company as a supplier of high-quality products for sectors such as the automotive industry. It will cut galvanized steel to width and, through its state-of-the-art inspection technology, will further improve the quality of galvanized steel from Tata Steel in Ijmuiden.

The extra finishing capacity will also enable Tata Steel to increase its cold rolled products volume. By installing a finishing line for hot dip galvanized steel, the finishing line at the cold rolling mill no longer has to be used for that purpose.
