Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Tangshan Iron and Steel Co., a subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel Group, has announced that in the January-August period of the current year its total finished steel exports exceeded 1 million mt, up 13 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of the company’s finished steel exports in this period amounted to around $663.69 million, increasing by 18 percent compared to the same period last year.
In the first eight months of the current year, Tangshan Steel’s export volume of cold rolled steel, its main export product, reached 760,000 mt. Meanwhile, in the same period, the company’s long steel exports doubled on year-on-year basis to 23,000 mt.
