According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel exports totaled 231,736 metric tons in April this year, falling by 25.3 percent month on month and down 27.3 percent compared to April 2011.
In the first four months of the current year, Japan's cold rolled steel exports decreased by 24 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, amounting to 1.04 million mt.
In the first four months, China was the largest cold rolled steel export destination of Japan, totaling 340,805 metric tons, down 20.8 percent compared to January-April 2011, while exports to Indonesia amounted to 136,204 metric tons, falling 13.4 percent compared to the same period of 2011. Meanwhile, Thailand's cold rolled steel imports from Japan totaled 130,505 mt in the period in question, falling by 16.8 percent year on year.
