Taiwan’s CSC posts decrease in output and sales in September

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in September this year its steel production volume totaled 695,598 metric tons, decreasing 12.3 percent month on month and 11.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the third quarter of the current year, the production volume was 2.22 million mt, while the year-to-date production figure was 6.69 million mt.
     
In September, CSC's sales volume was 766,556 metric tons, decreasing by 0.07 percent as compared to August this year and down 6.45 percent year on year. The sales volume for the third quarter was 2.29 million mt
 
In the month in question, the steelmaker's sales revenues amounted to NTD 19.93 billion ($658.17  million), falling by 1.2 percent month on month and 1.7 percent year on year.
