Taiwan’s CSC increases sales volume in August

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in August this year its steel production volume totaled 793,162 metric tons, increasing 8.06 percent month on month, but decreasing 5.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
     
In August, CSC's sales volume was 767,137 metric tons, increasing by 0.51 percent as compared to July this year and down 10.11 percent year on year.
 
In the month in question, the steelmaker's sales revenues amounted to NTD 20.19 billion ($679.70  million), falling by 0.08 percent month on month and 7.8 percent year on year, while its income before tax totaled NTD 1.83 billion ($61.59 million).
