Officials from SunCoke energy Tuesday announced they will soon begin construction on a $360 million coking coal plant in Middletown, Ohio.   The plant will produce 550,000 tons of blast furnace coke per year from 100 new heat recovery ovens. The facility will deliver its coke output to the adjacent AK Steel Middletown facility via conveyor. It will also produce approximately 46 MW electrical power which will be utilized by AK Steel Corporation.

Construction is scheduled to begin on April 12, and will take 15-18 months to complete.
