Steel imports rise at Chinese port

According to information from Chinese customs authorities, steel imports through the Xinjiang Allahshankou port of China have amounted to 252 million tons, resulting in tax collection of Yuan 15.5 million (approx. $1.87 million)with an increase of 255% over the last year. As reported, most of the steel products that are imported through the aforementioned port are ordinary cold rolled steel sheet from Russian mill Magnitogorsk.
