Steel Dynamics reduces raw material surcharge

According to the recent industry news, US based Steel Dynamics has announced that it reduced raw material surcharge on flat-rolled steel products, however is planning to increase base price due to strong demand coming from automotive, agricultural equipment and rail car industries. In line with the new regulation, the current raw material surcharge on flat steel products will be reduced by $30/mt to $95/mt per ton to be in effect for shipments as of April 6, 2004. Moreover the base price increase on steel sheet products is planned to be $40 per ton to be in effect for shipments as of May 17, 2004.
