Slovenia-based steelmaker Slovenian Steel Group (SIJ) has announced that the hot rolling mill at its subsidiary SIJ Acroni’s plant has been recommissioned.

As SteelOrbis reported previously, the main motor of the mill was seriously damaged, and operations were temporarily suspended. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

According to its statement, SIJ finally resumed production after completing three months of extensive repair works.

SIJ Acroni is an EAF-based steelmaker with a capacity of 726,000 mt per year. It produces flat rolled steel products, plates, hot rolled and cold rolled steels.
