Slovenia’s SIJ temporarily halts flat production

Slovenia-based steelmaker Slovenian Steel Group (SIJ) has announced that the hot rolling mill at its subsidiary SIJ Acroni’s plant has been seriously damaged. The company stated that it has temporarily suspended operations and that it is expected to take up to three months to resume production. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

The company in question has also stressed that this incident will not affect obligations to customers or the companies within the group.

SIJ Acroni is an EAF-based steelmaker with a capacity of 726,000 mt per year. It produces flat rolled steel products, plates, hot rolled and cold rolled steels.
