Slovenia’s CPI up 1.1% in March

Slovenia's consumer price index (CPI) rose 1.1% month on month in March, said Slovenia's Office of Statistics. This figure brings year-on-year inflation to 3.1%. A 7.5% increase in clothing and footwear pushed up overall consumer prices. The Slovenia government met three out of four criteria set by the European Union for newcomers regarding their public debt, public deficit, interest rates and inflation. Slovenia missed the inflation target, prompting the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to warn the country to take urgent measures against the rising prices.
