Euro zone annual inflation rate stands to 2%

EU statistics institution Eurostat reported that the annual inflation rate in Euro zone rose to 2% in April from 1.7% in March. The rate a year earlier was 2.1%. Moreover, annual inflation rate in the 25 member states of European Union (EU) was recorded as 1.9% in April. A year earlier the rate was 1.9%. According to the figures published by Eurostat, member countries which indicated the highest annual rates for April are; Slovakia with 7.8%, Hungary with 7%, Latvia with 5%, Malta and Slovenia with 3.6% for each, whereas the lowest rates were seen in Lithuania with -0.7%, Finland with -0.4%, Cyprus with -0.1% and Denmark with -0.5%. In addition, annual inflation rate reached 1.7% in Germany in April while it was recorded as 2.3% and 2.4% in Italy and France respectively.
