Acquired by Vergili Group in 2019, Silvan Steel is mainly a producer of rolls. The company intends to enter the steel sector with its new mini-mill.

Project scope and equipment details

The meltshop and rolling mill in the new Silvan mini-mill are being developed with state-of-the-art equipment supplied by Turkish plantmaker Demora. The facility will feature:

  • a 50-mt electric arc furnace and ladle system
  • a 3-strand vacuum closed continuous billet caster
  • an annual special quality steel production capacity of 400,000 mt

Commissioning of the plant is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

Vesuvius will deliver ladle and tundish mechanisms as well as critical refractory solutions, ensuring operations that are efficient, safe and sustainable in the years ahead.
