Germany-based plantmaker Siemens VAI Metals Technologies (Siemens VAI) announced on April 8 that  it has received a supply order from a steel producer in northern China for a dry dedusting system. The system is to be installed in an LD steel works. After commissioning, scheduled for autumn 2010, the steel works will meet European standard emission limits.

The project also includes a gas recovery system that collects and treats the converter gas for subsequent power generation. This latest order will help Siemens to further extend its market leadership in dedusting systems in China: five similar systems supplied by Siemens have entered into operation in the country in the last six months.
