Jiangsu-based Shagang Group, China’s largest private steelmaker, has announced that in April it plans to implement 16-day maintenance at a 480 cubic meter blast furnace, which will reduce production by 24,000 mt of pig iron. Moverover, the producer will also implement 16-day maintenance at a converter and electric arc furnace, which will result in shortfalls of 80,000 mt and 90,000 mt in crude steel outputs, respectively.

Meanwhile, it plans to carry out 15-day maintenance on a wire rod production line, which will cause a drop of 30,000 mt in wire rod output. Finally, 16-day maintenance on a medium steel plate line will lead to a decline of 64,000 mt in production.
