Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steel producer Shagang Group has signed an agreement with North China Metallurgical Construction Corporation (NCMCC), subsidiary of China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC), for the upgrading of the steelmaker's sintering machine No. 8.

Under the framework of the agreement, NCMCC will reconstruct the 400 m2 sintering machine No. 8 and will also rebuild a stockyard, while it will dismantle Shagang Group's old sintering machines Nos. 1 and 2. In addition, the contractor is also expected to install energy-saving and eco-friendly equipment for Shagang Group.

The project is expected to be completed by June 2012 and be put into production by the end of this year.
