The Russian steel producer Severstal has announced that its scrap processing division has reached its pre-crisis volume levels of raw material processing.

In particular, in the first half of the current year the scrap processing volume from Severstal's stamping production facility Gestamp-Severstal Vsevolozhsk increased by almost three times compared to the same period last year. In the first six months, 2,430 mt of ferrous scrap were shipped to Severstal Vtormet, Severstal's main scrap processing subsidiary.

In the future, Severstal plans to ship all the scrap from all stamping production of its JV Gestamp-Severstal in Russia to Severstal Vtormet, including from the recently opened plant in Kaluga.
