Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that in the January-October period of the current year, its coated steel products sales increased by 13 percent year on year to 912,000 mt.

In the first ten months of this year, Severstal’s galvanized steel sales volume amounted to about 570,000 mt, rising 20 percent from the same period of the previous year.

Severstal’s sales director Evgeniy Chernyakov stated that the company increased its coated and galvanized steel sales volume due to a profitable redistribution of orders to other markets. The domestic market still remains the key market for Severstal, Mr. Chernyakov added.

In addition, the company also stated that it plans to commission its new continuous galvanizing line in the first quarter of 2018. The new line will be able to produce galvanized steel with a thickness of up to three mm.
