Samuel, Son & Co. expands US presence with Basic Stainless acquisition

The fifth largest metal processor and distributor in North America, Samuel, Son & Co., Limited, announced on June 30 that it has acquired Basic Stainless Inc., a service center operating from an 80,000 square foot facility in Marshfield, Wisconsin with branches in Green Bay, Wisconsin and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Basic Stainless will continue Samuel's expansion into the US market.
 
Basic Stainless will keep the same name and will operate as a division of Samuel, Son & Co. Inc.  With the addition of Basic Stainless, the number of Samuel locations in the Midwest region of the US will be seven. Basic Stainless will immediately expand its current inventory of stainless sheet, plate, bar, pipe and tube and add aluminum products. In the near future, the company plans to add carbon flat rolled products such as coated and pre-painted.
 
Samuel has over 4,100 employees operating from 48 service centers and 47 manufacturing plants in North America as well as facilities in the UK, Australia and China.
