Germany-based steelmaker Salzgitter Group has declared force majeure, due to heavy rains, according to sources. The company spokesman warned of possible production cuts and shipment delays amid damage to some rail lines across the country. Raw material deliveries to Salzgitter plants were also interrupted.

Parts of Germany got hit by heavy rains and storms late last week, causing some damage to transportation as well. Deutsche Bahn reported that some lines were closed off due to storm damage.
